Okay, this is just awesome.
As you saw in the video up above, the guys behind Xevoz and Sigma 6 have their own Kickstarter, with plans to create toys based on the myths and heroes of the world.
We've got to say, this looks pretty awesome. The figures are 8", so they'll blend perfectly with Sigma 6 - which is really good news for customizers, especially if they get around to producing the female body shown in the concept art. The rewards offered beyond the toy itself are really enticing, too, though they're really on the expensive side. On the other hand, if you give them enough money to get a toy now, you'll get 15% off any future figures that come out of the project, so now's a great time to buy in.
Anyway, head over to Kickstarter and make this project a reality.
Wow, okay, I'm down. I do wish they'd started with someone else, though, since there's already a Rama figure. But still, this could be very awesome...
If I had the money to spare, I'd definitely donate. As a massive Mythology nerd this sounds amazing.
Man oh man that looks cool! And so many of the additional figures look stellar too! But I think it's the art book that's going to win me over - I LOVE toy concept art!
So how does kickstarter work, am I out the money as soon as it's pledged or does it only go to them if they hit their goal?
You pledge it, and it's PROMISED to them, but if they don't reach their goal they never take a cent from your account. So it doesn't hurt to back a project you like...
Hoping this project goes. I believe this is an awesome project with a new concept for educating our children and teaching them about world culture.. not just batman and spiderman...
I have pledged what I can. Would love to collect these for my own grnadchildren. Would really appreciate if people backed this project as much or as little as they can.
I'm honestly quite bummed that this didn't succeed. But I hope the creators don't stop here, and instead take what they've learned from this go-round and come at it again. Because the figures they showed off for the future looked even cooler than Rama, so this idea definitely has legs; it just needs to find its audience.
However, I do respect the people who pledged in the final hours, even when it was clear they were 80% short. Good for them for showing their support (but next time, pledge early and help spread the word sooner...)
