Yes! Bionicle and Transformers. I hoped they would earn a spot on the list, but they didn't.

  2. Stephen says:

The only real gripe I had about the list was Pursuit of Cobra was a couple spots lower than it should've been given what was around it (let's face it, if you mix it in with 30th it could've / should've won line of the year twice in a row)...

... NOW WE KNOW WHY. 🙂

  3. Friginator says:

I completely forgot about Bionicle! That should have been in the top ten, dammit.

    • Mark says:

Bionicle is definitely one of my favorite toylines. I was really disappointed that it didn't even manage to get #20 on the list.

      • Friginator says:

Right? I mean, how did DC Superheroes AND DCUC make it into the top 20 when they're competing with a toy line that became successful without a preexisting franchise?

        • Ronnie says:

For my money, DCSH and DCUC should have been in the same slot together, because they're practically the same line, just rebranded.

        • monkey boy says:

i think it's that most of the OAFEs just don't collect it. i got a couple as a present once, but they just didn't thrill me. desirability is definitely a factor; while it's commendable that bionicle is as successful as it is despite not being a licensed property, you still have to give mattel's dc lines credit for giving us marvel legends quality figures of iconic dc characters. though for the record dcuc suffered in my opinion for giving us no-name characters that warmed pegs forever. but i was a fan of dcsh. i got really lucky with that line and was able to find most of the figures i wanted, though i know others weren't so lucky.
