Grand Theft Auto: Lego City

Today's Penny Arcade references the new Lego City Undercover game:

Given that there are so many comics about videogames and videogamers, why are there no comics about toys and toy collectors? Somebody's got to be able to do better than this, right?

Shortpacked USED to be about toys and toy collectors... until it started to be about the drama behind characters that happen to work in a store that I suppose sells toys.

... well, that and occasionally hating on fandoms and acting like he's not part of it because he's above it.

    But yeah. Ugh.

yeah, we should have specified the comic needs to be "funny."

I read Shortpacked and honestly, most of the time, aside the actual plot plots, it IS funny. And it is great at pointing out the holes in prominent opinions in fandom in a fun way and doing generally funny nerd humor. ("I'm Batman. And I can breathe in space!" comes to mind, as well as BATMAN, DDR EXPERT.)

        • Soundwinder says:

Yes... back when they did that kind of humor. Those jokes are about five years old and now the comic is less about nerd humor and just about the SP! characters whom I honestly find... less than compelling.

Though I know this is pedantic of me, I can't help but think this would have been funnier if he'd actually looked at a Lego man while drawing it. Because those look like they were drawn from memory, and it's distracting...
