Take Your Action Figure to Work Day

Yes, apparently Take Your Action Figure to Work Day is a real thing, and it's happening this Friday, March 6.

The idea is simple. All you have to do is:

  • own an action figure
  • have a job
  • on Friday, take your action figure to your job

It's as simple as that. Now, granted, if you're reading our site, odds are good you might already have an action figure at your work, but you can use this as an excuse to take in another one.

Do you have an action figure? Do you have a camera? Do you have a social media account? If the answer is yes, than you have all you need to participate! Take your action figure to work on the first Friday in March and post pictures of him/her/it with you, with your coworkers, with a client or with your boss (well, maybe not your boss). Get creative! Who doesn’t want to see Wolverine pulling double duty as a paper shredder? In 2014 some people even story boarded a day in the life of their action figure, for the time they woke up, to the end of the day. Even Cheetah and Wonder Woman put aside their differences at the end of the day to go camping together.

You’re only limited by your own creativity. Post away! Be sure you include the official #AFWD2015 hashtag so we can all see the amazing things you do to make this as nerdy as possible.

So, planning to participate? What figure are you going to take? Tell us all about it!

    I'll give it a go -- I'll post it on Instagram @lupinebookclub
Used to have a ton of Funko Pops on my desk at work, so it shouldn't be too much of a stretch.

Mego Spock would seem the obvious choice.

This led to an interesting discussion at the library where I work about what counts as an "action figure." I brought Emmitt and his car because it meant I got to have LEGO on my desk, and I told a co-worker who is a big My Little Pony collector that she should put out a pony or two, but then we started to wonder if either one of us was doing it right. 🙂

Well we always say that to qualify as an "action" figure, it needs to move at the neck, hips, and shoulders - that'd cover most Lego minifigs. But the real important thing is to show off toys of any kind!
