Commando Spawn addendum

Here's a look at all Commando Spawn's colors, beginning with the "Dark Ages" palette used on the toy:

And the rest, with their meaningless names:

Can I just say that the final pic in the Commando Spawn review (where he's posed with the hellfire effects) makes it look like he's staring sadly at the effects and wondering where his guns are.

Maybe it's the angle or how the light catches the head/face, but I'd swear he was looking at his hands going, "*sigh* Bloody watchdog groups... back in the 90s nobody would've cared..."

    • WB now has a self-imposed gun ban on merchandise, & it currently owns Mortal Kombat. Since this Spawn is in an MK series, the gun ban applies to him too.

His necroplasm effects look really cool though. I wish some of the 90's toys came with those instead of absurd firearms. Is this the first mass market Spawn toy to include necoplasm blasts? (I don't count the dinky Spawn that came with Urizen II.)

Oh! That's interesting. If it's a ban imposed by the owner of the property, then there's nothing to be done about that.

But shouldn't that have been mentioned in the review? Like in an editor's note or something? As it is, my understanding from the review is that's it's some sort of inexplicable design choice, like having the Green Goblin without at least one pumpkin bomb or J Jonah Jameson without his moustache.
