I think one of the things I disliked the most about the success of the MCU was how Marvel tried to make sure the properties tied together. Like here with Quake, or how even further back once the MCU took off Tony Stark began to resemble Robert Downey Junior more. It's the same thing with how the character choices for video games are clearly meant to harken to the MCU despite supposedly being separate universes.
I know that brand recognition is a thing, but it's not like every Transformers series always has the same lineup, you know? You'll have Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, Megatron and Starscream as the big names, but then you have new characters like Windblade or Strongarm.
