#157 - X-23\/Felicia<\/h3>\n

<\/center><\/p>\n

Cloned from a damaged Wolverine<\/a> gene sample, X-23 was created for one reason: to be the perfect killing machine. She now seeks to turn her life around, \"X-23\"but her extensive training as a top-secret operative has made her a master of multiple forms of martial arts, and she possesses two claws in each hand and one in each foot.<\/i><\/p>\n

This X-23 is better than the previous version<\/a>, which is surprising - you'd expect these (at least the Marvel half of them) to be throwaway junkers, but she's got better hair, more complex paint masks, and, answering our complaint about the last toy, new feet with her claw popped out and sculpted straps over the top! Wow! She uses the same claw hands, but gets a new face. She's still baring her midriff, but her outfit looks more like club gear than a team uniform. The details of the boots and pants are painted in grey on the fronts and outsides of her legs, and her golden ring belt goes all the way around the waist.<\/p>\n

The cat-girl Felicia was taken in by a gentle nun, and she now works at an orphanage to help children who shared her circumstances. Kind and cheerful, \"Felicia\"with dreams of becoming a musical star, Felicia can fight with feline abilities and razor-sharp claws, as well as transform fully into a cat.<\/i><\/p>\n

Back in 2006, Art Asylum released a series of Street Fighter<\/i> Minimates<\/a>. A second series was solicited (and looked awesome<\/a>), but never made it out. Felicia, the Darkstalkers<\/i> catgirl, was meant to be one of those figures. Of course, this one, released six years later, is much better than the other would have been. Her add-ons are all new: hair, hands, tail and feet. If you think her costume is too revealing, don't worry, it's not: she's not wearing a costume; that's just her natural fur. She gets red paint apps for her claws, pink for her ears, and a cute, happy face. Aww! The set includes a clear version of the dust cloud base that came with Taskmaster and Rad Spencer<\/a>, though that could obviously be for either character.<\/div>\n

#158 - Dr. Doom\/Albert Wesker<\/h3>\n

<\/center><\/p>\n

A masked scientist who plots for world domination, Victor Von Doom \"Dr.is a genius in physics, robotics, cybernetics, genetics, weapons technology, bio-chemistry, and time travel. His armor is loaded with gimmicks, and he carries a high-powered blaster in his waist holster. He is also self-taught in the mystic arts.<\/i><\/p>\n

This is a terrific<\/b> Dr. Doom! Every add-on he's got is a new piece - boots, gloves, skirt, and cape. His pistol (also a new piece) really fits in the holster on his belt, which is very cool. The boots and gloves have discs on them that line up with the figure's joints, making them look more armored than usual. His hood and cape are one piece, so it's hard to turn his head. The cape hangs over the front of his shoulders, but they still raise pretty far.<\/p>\n

Albert Wesker is a calculating individual who will do anything to further his own gains. Having infected himself with a special virus that gives \"Wesker\"him several super-human abilities, he next plans to infect the global population with the Uroboros Virus, leaving only the chosen ones, such as himself, to create a new world.<\/i><\/p>\n

Ah, Wesker; he's the<\/b> main antagonist of the Resident Evil<\/i> games, and yet we could never get a figure of him from NECA, because he was \"boring.\" Art Asylum to the rescue! He's dressed mostly in black, including a flared trenchcoat<\/a> (which goes nicely with the included trans-orange flip base<\/a>, incidentally). His costume details are a mix of gloss and matte black, and his face - with his trademark glasses - looks stern and perfect. And he's armed with a black and silver pistol.<\/div>\n

#159 - She-Hulk\/Chun-Li<\/h3>\n

<\/center><\/p>\n

The cousin of Bruce Banner (a.k.a. The Hulk<\/a>), Jennifer Walters \"She-Hulk\"received a blood transfusion from Banner after being gravely injured, which allowed her to transform into She-Hulk. Like her cousin, Jennifer possesses great strength, durability, endurance, and a healing factor, but she almost always retains her full intelligence.<\/i><\/p>\n

Hard to believe this is only the second<\/a> She-Hulk Minimate. Showing how Minimate design has changed over time, this She-Hulk and the last one are both wearing the same costume, but really look very little alike. It's more than just the darker colors - the details are more intricate. The big, simple hair on the old one looks better, though. And the white paint on her torso was applied over the purple, but isn't thick enough to keep the darker color from showing through.<\/p>\n

Chun-Li longs to live the life of an ordinary woman, but her strong sense of duty and obligation force her to tirelessly continue her investigation to take down \"Chun-Li\"the criminal organization Shadaloo. Extremely proficient in kung-fu, she is well-known for her deadly kicks, and is also able to utilize her spiritual energy in battle.<\/i><\/p>\n

This is also the second<\/a> Chun-Li, and again, this is a massive<\/b> improvement. She's wearing her blue qipao<\/i> and brown leggings, but the white boots have smaller details, her studded bracelets are less clunky, her sleeves now have actual poofs, and the painting on her torso is outstanding<\/b>! She gets a new collar to add to the detail on her clothes, too. Her face is much better, and her hair has more sculpted details (plus the \"ox horns\" are the appropriate white, rather than brown). The set includes a waist flight stand<\/a>, so she can do her kicking tricks, and her new skirt allows the legs to have a full range of motion<\/a>. Nice work, that!<\/div>\n

#160 - Captain America\/Ryu<\/h3>\n

<\/center><\/p>\n

Fueled by the Super Soldier Serum, Steve Rogers' unparalleled sense \"Captainof justice makes him one of the most respected heroes today, and the ideal leader of the Avengers. Extremely proficient in boxing, judo, aikido, and various other fighting disciplines, he is also skilled with his one-of-a-kind shield, made from vibranium alloy.<\/i><\/p>\n

This is just a nice, solid Captain America. Nothing really \"special,\" per se - sparsely painted armor, a bit of anatomy, a fancy belt, a shield that connects to his left glove, all that stuff. If you don't have an army of Minimate Captains America, this is a fine offering. He's got an angry face and replacement hair, if you want to take his mask off.<\/p>\n

Ryu's name gained great recognition among martial artists after he defeated the Muay Thai king in a fight. He now wanders the globe, \"Ryu\"hoping to become a true warrior by engaging in battles with fighters he meets along the way. In addition to his unique fighting style, he is also able to focus his spiritual energy.<\/i><\/p>\n

If the First Appearance Ryu<\/a> in Series 2 wasn't enough for you, here's the real deal! The gi<\/i> he's waering is a new mold, with tattered sleeves. He's also painted with torn pantlegs and no shoes. His gloves are smaller, sticking just to the backs of his hands, and his black hair is pushed up by his red headband. Like the previous figure, he has his blue hadoken and a stand to hold it up.<\/div>\n

#161 - MODOK\/Akuma<\/h3>\n

<\/center><\/p>\n

\"MODOK\"Formerly an ordinary human, George Tarleton was transformed into a Mental Organism Designed Only for Killing (M.O.D.O.K.) during an experiment by Advanced Idea Mechanics (A.I.M.<\/a>). Calling himself the Scientist Supreme, he is capable of various types of attacks and also has superhuman calculating ability.<\/i><\/p>\n

Oh man, a MODOK Minimate! How cool is that? There's a real Minimate body under there, but the majority of his body\/giant head is a new mold, because how the hell else would you ever make it? He still looks like a Minimate, and that's what matters. His body is separate from his chair, and there's a notch in his butt to help hold him in it. His little arm can hold the control stick, and the exhaust cloud plugs in to hold him up.<\/p>\n

Akuma is a fighter who took on the name of \"Master of the Fist,\" and seeks a true battle to the death with Ryu. While his basic fighting style \"Akuma\"is based on Ansatsuken, the same as Ryu, Akuma seeks to lead Ryu down the path of his own fighting style, the \"Satsui no Hadou,\" in order to make him into a worthy opponent.<\/i><\/p>\n

Akuma is wearing a dark blue gi<\/i> with torn sleeves and a heavy beaded necklace molded as part of it. He protects his hands not with gloves, but with wrapped ropes, and there are sandals painted on his feet. His face is covered in lines, and his spiky red hair is pulled into a pointy top-knot. He comes with a pink hadoken fireball, with a flight stand to help hold it up (just like Ryu<\/a> had).<\/div>\n

#162 - Thor\/Amaterasu<\/h3>\n

<\/center><\/p>\n

Thor is the son of Odin, ruler of the home of the gods, Asgard. \"Thor\"Currently a member of the Avengers, Thor excels at hand-to-hand combat and possesses other-wordly stamina and superhuman strength. He also weilds Mjolnir, a hammer that allows him to command the powers of the storm: wind, rain and lightning.<\/i><\/p>\n

This figure is wearing the same costume as Thor Reborn<\/a>, but instead of having a big, bulky chest cap, the details are just painted on his torso. It works much better. His skirt and bootfronts are new pieces, and amazingly, so are his helmet and cape. Seriously? Wow! The arms and legs are silver, but the \"armor\" paint on them is kind of sparse. He not only comes with plain Mjolnir, he's also got one of the cool swirling<\/a> versions.<\/p>\n

100 years ago, the Sun God Amaterasu lost her physical form due to injuries sustained in battle. Her spirit was sealed within a statue, and she was \"Amaterasu\"later resurrected and set out to regain her powers and restore beauty to Nippon. She looks like an ordinary wolf, but she is able to perform 13 types of miracles with her Celestial Brush.<\/i><\/p>\n

Wow, is there any character less<\/b> likely to get a Minimate than Okami<\/i>'s Amaterasu? While previous Minimate dogs used<\/a> legs<\/a> as... their legs... Amaterasu uses arms. They make her look slender and athletic, like a wolf should be. The \"shoulders\" are new, sculpted with smirling clouds on them, matching all four feet and the tail. Her starting weapon, Divine Retribution, is attached to her back, and there's a hole in her sternum to accommodate a flight stand.<\/p>\n

The Thor in this set has some advantages over the previous release of this costume, but isn't a must-buy. Okami, however, is a lot of fun. When the wolf howls in the moonlight, that means it's \"go\" time; really, really \"go\" time<\/a>.<\/div>\n
