It first appeared in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.comics.org\/issue\/37788\/cover\/4\/\" target=\"gcd\" rel=\"noopener\"><i>Uncanny X-Men<\/i> #173<\/a>, and lasted until <a href=\"http:\/\/www.comics.org\/issue\/44112\/cover\/4\/\" target=\"gcd\" rel=\"noopener\"><i>Uncanny X-Men<\/i> #226<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/storm1.jpg\" alt=\"Mohawk Storm\" width=\"180\" height=\"475\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/p>\n<p><!--more-->But did you know the mohawk <a href=\"http:\/\/goodcomics.comicbookresources.com\/?p=92124\" target=\"cbr\" rel=\"noopener\">started as a joke<\/a>? Artist Paul Smith designed several potential new looks for Storm, and threw a picture of her as <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/poe\/ateammrt.php\">Mr. T<\/a> in as well, not thinking it would ever be picked.
