People known more as character actors than action stars, and thus unlikely candidates for plastic representation.<\/p>\n<p>Our honoree this time is classic old-school starlet Kim Hunter.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/istryf_khunter1.jpg\" width=\"450\" height=\"335\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Born Janet Cole in Detroit, MI, Hunter first appeared in the 1943 film noir <i>The Seventh Victim<\/i>. Three years later she starred opposite David Niven in the stylistic <a href=\"http:\/\/reverseshot.org\/archive\/entry\/2008\/matter_of_life_and_death\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><i>A Matter of Life and Death<\/i><\/a>. But it was her role as Stella Kowalski in 1951's <i>A Streetcar Named Desire<\/i> that earned her both an Oscar and a Golden Globe.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/istryf_khunter2.jpg\" width=\"450\" height=\"335\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"425\" height=\"239\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/61QgUx45Q3s?rel=0\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/center><\/p>\n<p>However, it was a role in which you couldn't even <b>see<\/b> her face that saw her turned into a toy (thereby undercutting the name of this column, wouldn't you say?). Kim Hunter played Dr. Zira in the first three <i>Planet of the Apes<\/i> movies. Yes, one actress was both STELLLLAAAAAA!!! and the monkey who kissed Charlton Heston.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/150212o.jpg\" width=\"250\" height=\"515\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/p>\n<p>She appeared in numerous soap operas, was blacklisted in the 1950s, and has two separate stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
