And Series 2 of the <i>Rick and Morty Mystery Minis<\/i> allows you to collect the whole team (as long as you're willing to go to a lot of different stores, because they're all exclusives).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/07\/funkfri.jpg\" width=\"450\" height=\"72\" alt=\"Funko Friday\" title=\"Funko Friday\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/funko_rmmm2_vvm1.jpg\" title=\"Vance Maximus (shown twice actual size)\" width=\"300\" height=\"475\" align=right style=\"margin:5px 0px 0px 15px\">Vance Maximus, Renegade Starsoldier, is the leader of the Vindicators. He doesn't play well with others, possibly because of his tragic origin; he uses his power responsibly (though it's also a burden to him) and never gives up. He's a hero!<\/p>\n<p>Vance is a hero in the vein of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/?p=24499\">Star-Lord<\/a>: a seemingly normal guy with access to high-enough technology to enable him to lead a team of space heroes. Thanks to being voiced by Christian Slater, he's even got the cool charm thing working for him. Heck, the only thing he's missing is some kind of battle mask!<\/p>\n<p>The <i>Mystery Mini<\/i> does not <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/funko_rmmm2_vvm2.jpg\" title=\"Captain Happy Jetpack\" width=\"150\" height=\"235\" align=left style=\"margin:2px 10px 0px 0px\">have any sort of dynamic pose. Any sort of pose at all, really: he's just standing there with his arms at his sides. Your elementary school teacher would be proud of him for being so well-behaved while standing in line. He's wearing his blue battle suit with the Vindicators vest over it, and has the wings of his jetpack expanded. His colorscheme is mostly blue, which contrasts with his pointy red hair. The grey streaks on his temples are painted, as is his stubble and the smirk on his face. The <i>Rick and Morty Mystery Minis<\/i> only have painted eyes, not sculpted in like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/reviews.php#wdmyst\">the <i>Walking Dead<\/i> ones<\/a> (after Series 1), but they do have noses.<\/p>\n<p>Vance Maximus is a GameStop exclusive, available in a 1:12 ratio. There seem to be several different case layouts, but you can reliably find him in one of the middle boxes - either left or right side, top or bottom layer.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/?p=26353&page=2\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/funko_rmmm2_vnn3-300x193.jpg\" title=\"The Vindicators (click to continue)\" width=\"300\" height=\"193\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"425\" height=\"235\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/PgVv7FPWYyU?rel=0\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/center><\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/funko_rmmm2_vsn1.jpg\" title=\"Supernova (shown twice actual size)\" width=\"280\" height=\"455\" align=right style=\"margin: 0px 0px 0px 10px\">Supernova is the most powerful member of the Vindicators. She doesn't play well with others, possibly because of her tragic origin; she uses her power responsibly (though it's also a burden to her) and never gives up. She's a hero!<\/p>\n<p>Supernova seems to have some sort of undefined cosmic abilities: she's shown firing energy blasts, creating shields, opening portals, dematerializing an armload of guns and creating a mop in their place... pretty much the whole generic combo platter of Silver Surfer\/Star Sapphire powers. She's voiced by Gillian Jacobs, aks Britta from <i>Community<\/i>, doing a great job sounding haughty and superior.<\/p>\n<p>This figure is standing with her arms spread slightly, which is a little bit of a problem - in the episode, Supernova was never shown doing anything other than hovering. <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/funko_rmmm2_vsn2.jpg\" title=\"so much hair!\" width=\"150\" height=\"235\" align=left style=\"margin:2px 10px 0px 0px\">In order to convey that, she'd would need some kind of translucent flight stand, which Funko has done for other <i>Mystery Minis<\/i>, but must not have worked here for some reason. She really could have used it, though, because her hair makes her very back-heavy, and prone to falling over. Her body is a sparkly purple, an effort to duplicate her <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/yo\/hmlx_af.php\">Singularity<\/a>-style \"you can see the cosmos within my body\" appearance, and her hair is two colors - instead of having shadows, the animation made her hair lighter underneath to suggest an internal glow. Her headdress has a green circle overlapping a yellow circle, which is the toy's best effort at duplicating the tiny sun and planet that were floating there - there's no way they'd have been able to get all the other little planets that orbit her.<\/p>\n<p>Supernova is a GameStop exclusive, but while the packaging claims she's available in a 1:24 ratio, the entire assortment is 1:12. He doesn't play well with others, possibly because of his tragic origin; he uses his power responsibly (though it's also a burden to him) and never gives up. He's a hero!<\/p>\n<p>Million Ants, aka \"Snuzzles,\" aka \"Wiggly Turd Man,\" is the team shapeshifter, using the numerous ants (I'm not sure how many of them there are, exactly) that make up his body to change into any shape needed... as long as it still looks like a pile of living ants. It's not like he can pass for human the way Clayface can, you know? And he's functionally immortal, since any time any of his ants get killed off, the queen just lays more eggs, bringing the number right back up. Now that's powerful!<\/p>\n<p>The <i>Rick and Morty Mystery Minis<\/i> have oversized heads, <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/funko_rmmm2_vma2.jpg\" title=\"ants in your pants\" width=\"260\" height=\"275\" align=left style=\"margin: 7px 15px 0px 0px\">but Million Ants really doesn't - his is about as proportional on this toy as it was in the cartoon, making him look smaller than all the other Vindicators. His right eye has a pale ring around it, like dried glue. His legs disappear into a pile of ants, but his pose is otherwise extremely straightforward and staid. Way to just stand there, Million Ants. There are little bumps sculpted on the surface, and his body is brown with a few red flecks painted on.<\/p>\n<p>Million Ants is a GameStop exclusive, but while the packaging claims he's available in a super-rare 1:72 ratio, the entire assortment is 1:12. You should be able to find him in one of the middle boxes - either left or right side, top or bottom layer. And he's easily the heaviest thing in the case, so getting him will be easy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/?p=26353&page=4\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/funko_rmmm2_vnn3-300x193.jpg\" title=\"The Vindicators (click to continue)\" width=\"300\" height=\"193\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"425\" height=\"235\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Ehh4siNqGsU?rel=0\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/center><\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage-->Alan Rails is a member of the Vindicators. <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/funko_rmmm2_var1.jpg\" title=\"Alan Rails (shown twice actual size)\" width=\"360\" height=\"435\" align=right style=\"margin:0px 0px 0px 15px\">He doesn't play well with others, possibly because of his tragic origin; he uses his power responsibly (though it's also a burden to him) and never gives up. He's a hero!<\/p>\n<p>Unlike the other Vindicators, Alan Rails' origin actually gets revealed: after his parents' tragic death in a railroad accident, he gained the power to summon ghost trains. How does that work? Yes. He wears a ghostly whistle on a thick chain around his neck, and when he blows it, a ghost train comes speeding through. Sure, why not? Maybe he's like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/yo\/jlgl.php\">Green Lantern<\/a>, and just doesn't realize he can do shapes <b>beyond<\/b> trains? You know, like Hal Jordan and his damn giant fists. <\/p>\n<p>Alan dresses like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/articulation\/1102.php\">an old-timey railroad conductor<\/a>, with an engineer's cap <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/funko_rmmm2_var2.jpg\" title=\"come on ride the train, ride it\" width=\"200\" height=\"235\" align=left style=\"margin:2px 10px 0px 0px\" onmouseover=\"this.src='http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/funko_rmmm2_var3.jpg'\" onmouseout=\"this.src='http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/funko_rmmm2_var2.jpg'\">and a pair of overalls. He tops that with a black trenchcoat, though whoever was in charge of creating the paint master for the figure didn't realize his arms were supposed to be bare. Whoops! His face is painted with a furious look, befitting the temper he displays in the episode (he's voiced by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/?p=7903\">Lance Reddick<\/a>, who knows how to play scary\/angry). He's got the most dynamic pose of any of these figures, with his legs spread, one fist raised, and a spectral railroad... rail... over his shoulder. The most awesome part, though? His ghost whistle and ghost rail are both cast from glow-in-the-dark plastic! <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/funko_rmmm2_var3.jpg\">Turn out the lights<\/a> and he gets ghostly! And honestly, for the chains to glow, that means his entire body has to be molded from the stuff, then just painted over.<\/p>\n<p>Alan Rails is a Hot Topic exclusive, but while the packaging claims he's available in a 1:24 ratio, the entire assortment is 1:12. And he's pretty heavy, so identifying him is fairly easy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/?p=26353&page=5\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/funko_rmmm2_vnn3-300x193.jpg\" title=\"The Vindicators (click to continue)\" width=\"300\" height=\"193\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"425\" height=\"235\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/tc_mkGR4x8U?rel=0\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/center><\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/funko_rmmm2_vcb1.jpg\" title=\"Crocubot (shown twice actual size)\" width=\"400\" height=\"495\" class=\"alignright\">Crocubot is the logical, robotic member of the Vindicators. He doesn't play well with others, possibly because of his tragic origin; he uses his power responsibly (though it's also a burden to him) and never gives up. He's a hero!<\/p>\n<p>Crocubot combines the powers of a cold, unfeeling reptile with the powers of an equally cold, and unfeeling machine. Why does he do this? Who built him? What purpose could it serve? All these questions and fewer will not be answered in \"Vindicators 3: The Return of Worldender\"!<\/p>\n<p>Of all the Vindicators in <i>Rick and Morty Mystery Minis<\/i> Series 2, <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/funko_rmmm2_vcb2.jpg\" title=\"that's the piece that breaks off\" width=\"250\" height=\"295\" align=left style=\"margin:7px 15px 0px 0px\">Crocbot is the one I was most looking forward to - he's just so cute! He's got a croc head and tail sticking out of his blocky mechanical torso, a flesh left arm and a simple pinchy claw on the right side, then a real right foot and a rounded cup for the left. His left eye is actually a pair of cameras with wires that run along the side of his head and into the robo-frame. A canister on top seems to serve as another head (in the episode, it turns and looks wherever Crocubot is looking), but it's also a weak point for this toy: the small triangular antenna on top tends to break off due to the weight of the figure rattling around inside the box. So if you get him, make sure you check the bag carefully before you throw it away.<\/p>\n<p>Crocubot is a Hot Topic exclusive, available in a 1:12 ratio. They all are, no matter what the back of the packages claim. You should be able to find him in one of the middle boxes - either left or right side, top or bottom layer. And he's one of the two heaviest figures in the line, so identifying him is quite easy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/funko_rmmm2_vnn3.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/funko_rmmm2_vnn3-300x193.jpg\" title=\"The Vindicators (click to embiggen)\" width=\"300\" height=\"193\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"425\" height=\"235\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/spm9y0WAEBM?rel=0\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/center><\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage-->This is... technically a member of the Vindicators? Maybe? Their sidekick\/probationary member\/janitor? <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/funko_rmmm2_vnn1.jpg\" title=\"Noob-Noob (shown twice actual size)\" width=\"290\" height=\"315\" align=right style=\"margin:0px 0px 0px 10px\">It's Noob-Noob, the type of joke <i>Rick and Morty<\/i> does best: the \"<a href=\"https:\/\/xkcd.com\/1210\/\" target=\"xkcd\" rel=\"noopener\">lol xD I'm so random<\/a>\" manufactured irreverence, calculated to do nothing except highlight how off-the-wall and against-the-grain the show can be. Whoa-oh-ho-ho, aren't they wacky! Look at them go! Wubba-lubba-dub-dub!<\/p>\n<p>(And honestly, if you think jokes like Noob-Noob or <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/shocka\/funko_rmlc1_mpbh.php\">Mr. Poopybutthole<\/a> are going to stand the test of time, find somebody who remembers what <i>South Park<\/i> is and ask them how well <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TheRyanAston\/status\/911038349791526912\" target=\"twit\" rel=\"noopener\">Manbearpig<\/a> has aged.)<\/p>\n<p>Noob-Noob is a sickly little homunculoid that looks like a beachside caricature artist's rendering of Eric Trump. He has an oblong head, uneven eyes, and big buck teeth that poke out of the side of his mouth. He wears a maroon mask and trunks, a white T-shirt and tights, and a purple cape. He's holding the Swiffer he used to clean up <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2018\/06\/funko_rmmm2_vnn2.jpg\" title=\"poo broom\" width=\"200\" height=\"155\" align=left style=\"margin:7px 10px 0px 0px\">Rick's diarrhea - there's even some sculpted on the end of it, and painted on his boots. His logo is a lowercase N on the front of his trunks.<\/p>\n<p>Noob-Noob is not a store exclusive, being available in every case. The published ratios for this series are all a mess: every box shows the characters available in different numbers, while the reality of the situation is that everyone in every case is packed 1-in-12; that's a particularly welcome change in Noob-Noob's case, since this little turd was originally going to be 1:6. Two of him in every damn case? Why?! The far more popular Pickle Rick was only planned to be 1:24, which seems outlandishly stupid. First Funko screwed up the numbers on the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/?p=26023\"><i>Mad Max<\/i><\/a> boxes, now this, too. What's going on over there?
