And yet we still begin with his first appearance, from 1966's <i>Tales of Suspense<\/i> #75. Well, the issue was his first appearance, not this page: this is just when he first meets (and immediately kicks the ass of) Captain America:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/tos75.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/tos75-300x287.jpg\" title=\"click to embiggen\" width=\"300\" height=\"287\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>(Side note: this was also the first appearance of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/yo\/cahml1_sc.php\">Sharon Carter<\/a>. That's her fighting him from the ground.)<\/p>\n<p>Next!<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<p>In 2013's <i>Wolverine<\/i> (Vol. 4) #9, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/yo\/av2c_bat.php\">Batroc<\/a> blew the X-Jet out of the sky in an effort to claim a $10 million bounty on Logan's head. (Kitty phased them to safety, of course.) This led to the following fight:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/w9a.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/w9a-300x153.jpg\" title=\"click to embiggen\" width=\"300\" height=\"153\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/w9b.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/w9b-300x230.jpg\" title=\"click to embiggen\" width=\"300\" height=\"230\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<p>In 1974, <i>Marvel Premiere<\/i> #20 presented this epic match between Batroc and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/yo\/ml12_if.php\">Danny Rand<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/mp20a.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/mp20a-300x230.jpg\" title=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"230\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/a><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/mp20b.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/mp20b-300x230.jpg\" title=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"230\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>(Don't sweat the second-person narration - that's just how Iron Fist stories were done back then, for some reason.)<\/p>\n<p>Next!<\/p>\n<p><!--nextpage--><\/p>\n<p>The fight between <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/yo\/av2c_bat.php\">Batroc<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/yo\/smhtar.php\">Tarantula<\/a> took place over two issues in 1992, starting in <i>Punisher<\/i> #69, part of a story titled \"Eurohit.\" Basically, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/yo\/ml4_pun.php\">Frank Castle<\/a> went to Europe to kill a bunch of comical national stereotype mobsters that would make even <i>G Gundam<\/i> proud. The entire time, Batroc kept showing up and tussling with Frank before escaping again. Eventually, Tarantula ended up on Punisher's side somehow, so the two kicking-based martial artists faced off inside a high-rise building:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/p69a.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/p69a-300x230.jpg\" title=\"click to embiggen\" width=\"300\" height=\"230\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/p69b.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/02\/p69b-300x230.jpg\" title=\"click to embiggen\" width=\"300\" height=\"230\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Ooh, cliffhanger!
