<\/a>In the first wing<\/a> of the Transformers BotBots<\/i><\/a> mall, the Techie Team<\/a> was important enough to get two stores. You can find SA Cheez riding the escalator between the two of them.<\/p>\n

There have been Transformers<\/a> cameras<\/a> before, so this little Bot is in good company. A camera is exactly the kind of thing you'd expect to find in an electronics store, and this is a decent model. The casing is black, with bright blue on the lens and viewfinder, plus a few spots of red and silver on the front. There are buttons and controls on the top, but they're unpainted.<\/p>\n

Converting BotBots is easy. For SA Cheez, all you have to do is lift the lens, pull down the grip on one side, and split the other side to create legs. Done!<\/p>\n

S.A. Cheez likes telling the other bots what to do. Scrunch together. Okay now smile. Okay now make a weird face. Hold. Right. There. It's not really giving orders. He says he just wants to make them look good, filter or not.<\/i><\/p>\n

This robot has a unique shape, with the camera's entire lens forming his left arm, and the right arm being more of a sunken hollow than anything else. Plus, his face is in the stomach, which makes him look smaller and stumpier. The interior of the right arm is molded with details that look like a camera's controls, even though they have nothing to do with the actual buttons on the exterior. His arms and feet are balljoints, for maximum poseability.<\/p>\n

SA Cheez is only available blind-packed<\/a>, where he's #9. The mold was reused in Series 2 to create Clixx, and then two more times after that...<\/p>\n

<\/a>Transformers BotBots<\/i><\/a> Series 3 introduced five additional factions. And a whole new wing of the mall<\/a>, of course, including a three-story arcade, where the Arcade Renegades<\/a> hang out. Papa Click can be found peeking over the railing on Level 2.<\/p>\n

While the Arcade Renegades do have some new molds, half their ranks are filled out by repaints. Some make sense - a soda<\/a>, a wristband<\/a> - but others are more esoteric. Why would an arcade have a camera around? Is it a prize? Can you win it with tickets? That might explain why, despite the body looking like a modern DSLR camera, the colorscheme here makes it look like an old Polaroid Instamatic: because it's been sitting in that prize case since the '70s, waiting for someone to save up enough tickets.<\/p>\n

Say cheese! Papa Click has made it his life's work to take pictures of all the arcade's high scorers for the wall of fame. As an instant camera bot, he likes to capture the moment instantly. He means well, but bots can be reluctant to pose when they're still right in the middle of a game.<\/i><\/p>\n

Oh, that explains it! Papa Click isn't a prize to be given away, he's arcade property. He's old because they never upgraded! The camera's creamy white front panel makes this BotBot look different from its prepaint, and the red, yellow, and blue stripes remain visible here. The major difference, though, is that the face has been moved from the center of the torso to the top, so even though this is the same mold from Series 1, the robot looks different. Also, the \"eye\" is a heart shape, which would have sent a different message if it had remained in the middle of the chest.<\/p>\n

Papa Click is available blindpacked in four out of six iterations of the Arcade Renegades Suprise Pack.<\/p>\n

<\/a>Hasbro brought a Transformers BotBots<\/i><\/a> exclusive with them to San Diego Comic-Con this year: the \"Con Crew\" set, which features 'bots from three different factions: the Line League, the Fantastic Fuelers, and the Meet n' Greets<\/a>.<\/p>\n

While the original Series 1 SA Cheez was an all-black camera, this one is mainly silver, with black just along the middle and on the hand grip. The lens is still blue, but this time the buttons and dials on top of the camera get some paint apps as well. Considering how small and simple this mold is, and how the only difference is paint, they really do end up looking pretty distinct from one another.<\/p>\n

Converting BotBots is easy. For Botarazzi, all you have to do is lift the lens, pull down the grip on one side, and split the other side to create legs. Done!<\/p>\n

A photo op you can't miss. No really, you can't miss it - not even if you try. Botarazzi takes pictures of everyone and everything.<\/i><\/p>\n

The front flap on the packaging for the Con Crew set features a bunch of social media pics of the various BotBots having fun, but Botarazzi is nowhere to be seen. Why's that? Because they were the camera taking all of the shots! That's good attention to detail. On the toy, you can tell Botarazzi is star-struck by all the cool stuff at the con: their eyes have turned into sparkling stars, and their mouth is a gasping O shape.<\/p>\n

Botarazzi is easily the plainest of the uses of this mold, what with no flashy colors or stomach-faces, but at least the fact that the right arm is light gray now rather than black makes the molded interior details easier to see.<\/p>\n

<\/a>So what are we thinking here, folks? The Frequent Flyers<\/a> are all travel-themed (international travel, no less), but it's not like malls have airports, so where do they come from: a travel agency? A luggage store? A kiosk that's giving away a Caribbean vacation and just happens to have a whole bunch of props on display? You tell us!<\/p>\n

It took until Series 5, but Hasbro finally did the thing you might have expected from the outset, and turned their BotBots camera into a Reflector reference. There's no escaping Generation 1! This doesn't look like the toy<\/a>, but rather the cartoon model: silver body with purple on the top, green right above the lens, and a red stripe running horizontally around the body. There's another around the lens, and the glass at the end is a bright lime green.<\/p>\n

Converting BotBots is easy. For Shudder, all you have to do is lift the lens, pull down the grip on one side, and split the other side to create legs. Done!<\/p>\n

Shudder is a bit of a nervous flyer. He had a really bad experience once with a toy airplane and some low-hanging holiday decorations... and being a camera bot with a photographic memory, he's a bit traumatized. The other Frequent Flyers can't wait for their next trip to another part of the mall, but the thought just makes Shudder shutter with fear.<\/i><\/p>\n

That's cute, that the Frequent Flyers consider going to different parts of the mall a big vacation. Too bad Hasbro stopped including maps of the mall so we could know what those different parts were! Shudder's deco matches his terrified personality, his single eye being wide with fear. The purple knuckles on the big right hand contrast with the green left nub.<\/p>\n

Shudder is available in a Los Deliciosos 5-pack, and two Frequent Flyers 8-packs.<\/p>\n
