So you'd expect each of them belonged to one of the other teams, yes? If that's the case, the process of elimination means this BotBot is supposed to be part of... the Jock Squad?

What, exactly, does a flashlight have to do with sports? Yes, you can buy flashlights at sporting goods stores, but that doesn't make it traditional sports equipment - not in the way that a football or a boxing glove are. It's a nice flashlight, sure, a modern LED style (judging by the many small indentations on the lens) with a yellow body and a red power switch, but that's still got nothing to do with sports. Heck, it'd make more sense as part of the Techie Team than the Jock Squad, but the Techie Team already had its own Lost Bot (Game Over, the videogame controller).

BotBots have simple conversions, so all you need to do here is pull the arms out to the sides, pull the legs down, and twist the tip of the flashlight around to reveal the bot's face.

Dimlit isn't the brightest bulb in the box. He loves exploring new places but gets lost a lot and is constantly afraid of the dark. Then he remembers to turn on his light. It's easier to blaze a new trail when you can see where you're going!

The robot mode doesn't look vastly different from the altmode - this is very much a "flashlight robot," not a robot that was formerly disguised as a robot. The colors are good, with the red and yellow sandwiched between the black feet and head, while the gray face and hands complement each other. The face design, with blue blush marks(?) on the cheeks and literal stars in the eyes, doesn't quite match with the personality presented in that bio, but it's still cute.

Dimlit is available either blind-packed, as #18, or in a Toilet Troop 5-pack.

Series 4 of the Transformers BotBots introduces a whopping eight new factions, which is the same number Series 1 started with, and the number Series 2 and 3 came up with combined! Today's BotBot comes from the Movie Moguls, which tells us that although Hasbro no longer gives us fun maps of the mall, it must have a cinemaplex attached to it somewhere.

Lumidope is a flashlight, the same mold as Series 1's Dimlit and Series 3's Terror Tale Torch. Those flashlights were yellow and red, respectively, while this one is a lime green. The idea is that he's one of those lights the theater ushers use when they're doing their mid-movie walkthrough, but ushers don't really use this kind of flashlight - their light needs to be visible but not distracting, while an LED torch like this would blind the audience. Which would probably hamper their enjoyment.

BotBots have simple conversions, so all you need to do here is pull the arms out to the sides, pull the legs down, and twist the tip of the flashlight around to reveal the bot's face.

Lumidope means business. Um, ah, respectfully. He's on a mission to catch any bots making mischief in the theater! But, uh, ah, he wants all bots to please enjoy the movie. They better behave or he'll shine his light right in their face! But, um, um, he's really sorry for the disturbance. Lumidope is ready to lay down the law! Once all the paralyzing fear goes away...

Lumidope remains a robot that looks very similar to a flashlight - so much so that some of the stock photography for this mold forgets to turn the cap around to hide the face, and no one noticed before they were approved and released. The hands don't get any paint this time, so they're the same green as the rest of the body. The face is super cute, with a total "gasp, look at THAT!" kind of expression thanks to the large solid blue eyes and the wide open mouth.

This figure is available in two of the four Movie Moguls 8-packs.

And now, some more OAFEry:

Transformers 40th Anniversary special

Trans5mers: Planet of the Earth trailer

Transformers Fan-Built-Bot revealed

BotCon final reveal: Motormaster

Lots of toys make a Super Bowl appearance

When Transformers BotBots started, there were seven "real" factions, and the eighth faction - the Lost Bots - had seven members.
