Take a look:<\/p>\n<p><span id=\"more-31165\"><\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/robindick.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/robindick-129x300.jpg\" title=\"New 52 Dick Grayson\" width=\"129\" height=\"300\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><!--more-->We begin, of course, with Dick Grayson. His look owes a lot to the Neal Adams Robin design, though choosing to replace the red trunks with an arrow pointing at his junk is... certainly a decision. Maybe he wanted to subconsciously hint at his real name?<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/robinjason.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/robinjason-253x300.jpg\" title=\"New 52 Jason Todd\" width=\"253\" height=\"300\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>The benefit of designing a flashback costume is that you can use it to reflect the future. For instance, Jason Todd wears a red mask instead of green, presaging his turn as Red Hood. His suit was rougher and more armored than Dick's, but dropped any use of black.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/robintim.jpg\" title=\"New 52 Tim Drake\" width=\"280\" height=\"295\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/p>\n<p>Tim's \"first\" costume was really his second old costume (the one based on <i>Batman the Animated Series<\/i>), just minus the black trunks.<\/p>\n<p>Here's some bonus art, too. Such as the New 52 take on Nightwing's post-\"disco\" blue-and-yellow costume:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/robinnightwing.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/robinnightwing-145x300.jpg\" title=\"New 52 Nightwing costume\" width=\"145\" height=\"300\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And before she was Huntress, Earth-2's Helena Wayne was her father's Robin, wearing a costume of her own:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/robinhelena.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/robinhelena-127x300.jpg\" title=\"New 52 Helena Wayne\" width=\"127\" height=\"300\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And finally, the comics finally introduced Carrie Kelly, <i>Dark Knight Returns<\/i>' female Robin:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/robincarrie.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/05\/robincarrie-239x300.jpg\" title=\"New 52 Carrie Kelly\" width=\"239\" height=\"300\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>(She was at a costume party.
