{"id":35855,"date":"2021-12-01T12:01:46","date_gmt":"2021-12-01T17:01:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/?p=35855"},"modified":"2021-12-01T10:08:08","modified_gmt":"2021-12-01T15:08:08","slug":"elf-advent-calendar-review","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/2021\/12\/elf-advent-calendar-review\/","title":{"rendered":"Elf Advent Calendar review"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Told you the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/?p=34905\">Gremlins<\/a> wouldn't be the only advent calendar we had this year.<\/p>\n<p><i>Buddy picks up all kinds of friends as he navigates his way from the North Pole to Manhattan!<\/i><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/elf2020ac01a.jpg\" title=\"Elf Advent Calendar\" width=\"345\" height=\"255\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/p>\n<p><!--more-->The front of the box is a festive red and green, with the silhouetted movie logo in the center and informative facts called out on yellow ornaments.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/elf2020ac01b.jpg\" title=\"nearly like a picture print by Currier and Ives\" width=\"460\" height=\"420\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/p>\n<p>The front panel folds down, creating a diorama of a winter wonderland: fold up trees, candy canes, and mounds of snow on the ground, and several gingerbread-style houses in the back. The front has the ice floe that would transport Buddy away from his current life. The numbered compartments are a bit more organized than the Gremlins' were, which makes sense. Let's pop open Door #1 and see what we get!<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/12\/elf2020ac01c.jpg\" title=\"North Pole sign (shown twice actual size)\" width=\"180\" height=\"255\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/p>\n<p>Hmm, starting slowly. It's a sign for the North Pole, just in case you forgot where Santa lives. It's about 1&#190;\" tall, with a clear base to keep it standing. The pole is red and white striped, with a brown sign and a golden ball on top.
