With the door guarded by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/yo\/sw6bsscout.php\">Scout Troopers<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/3RDVUyv\" target=\"amazon\" rel=\"noopener\">Paploo the Ewok<\/a> steals one of their speeder bikes and leads a bunch of them away, leaving just a solitary guard. Han, being a master of strategies that would work in a <i>Tom & Jerry<\/i> cartoon, gets the Trooper to chase him around the corner and into a full-on ambush.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/rex1.jpg\" title=\"surprise!\" width=\"470\" height=\"340\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/p>\n<p><!--more-->None of the members of the strike team were ever named, but continuity Polaroids taken at the time do at least reveal that the guy in the front with the prominent white beard was played by an actor identified only as \"L. Burner\":<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/rex2.jpg\" title=\"Last Known Photo\" width=\"330\" height=\"420\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/p>\n<p>Like <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/yo\/sw6bserct.php\">today's review<\/a> said, a 2002 publication named Burner's character \"Nik Sant\":<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/rex3-782x1024.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/rex3-229x300.jpg\" alt=\"Lieutenant Nik Sant, a survival expert who had worked on Kshyyyk, completed the team. The oldest member of the unit, he was nicknamed &quot;Gramps&quot; by the others.\" width=\"360\" height=\"240\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>And for 13 years, that was where it ended.<\/p>\n<p>But in 2015, <i>Clone Wars<\/i>' Commander Rex showed up in <i>Rebels<\/i>, and he had a new look:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/rex4.jpg\" title=\"impressive he can still fit into the armor\" width=\"370\" height=\"340\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/p>\n<p><i>Rebels<\/i> Season 4, Episode 14, \"A Fool's Hope,\" saw <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/yo\/swrebbs12hs.php\">Hera<\/a> recruiting all the allies she could. One of them was Rex, who got a new design <a href=\"https:\/\/www.starwars.com\/series\/star-wars-rebels\/a-fools-hope-episode-guide\" target=\"sw\" rel=\"noopener\">by Eli Maffei<\/a>:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/rex5.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/rex5-300x135.jpg\" title=\"click to embiggen\" width=\"300\" height=\"135\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/yo\/swrebbs9sw.php\">Sabine's<\/a> narration in the series finale of <i>Rebels<\/i> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=GC3_Ga2y0es\" target=\"yt\" rel=\"noopener\">informed us<\/a> \"Hera fought in the battle of Endor, as did Commander Rex.\" Dave Filoni made it a vague reference at best, for the same reason <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/monkey\/swmandbsddc.php\">Mando<\/a> met <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/yo\/swmandbsccig.php\">IG-11<\/a> instead of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/yo\/sw5bs9ig.php\">IG-88<\/a>: Filoni doesn't want to forcibly supersede the old canon unless he needs to. Declaring that Nik Sant was secretly Rex wasn't something that <b>needed<\/b> to happen, so <i>Rebels<\/i> didn't literally show us Rex standing in Nik Sant's spot... but the <i>Galaxy of Adventures<\/i> short \"From Smuggler to General,\" sure did!<\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"425\" height=\"240\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/N_KBQ-gRgxU?&rel=0&end=57\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/center><\/p>\n<p><i>Galaxy of Adventures<\/i> isn't specifically canon. But the Little Golden Book <a href=\"https:\/\/amzn.to\/47TZri6\" target=\"amazon\" rel=\"noopener\"><i>I Am a Clone Trooper<\/i><\/a> is, and there he was again, looking just the same:<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_41328\" style=\"width: 455px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-41328\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/rex6.jpg\" title=\"canon!\" width=\"445\" height=\"460\"><p id=\"caption-attachment-41328\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">\"Years later, Rex and other clones joined the Rebellion to fight the Empire.\"<\/p><\/div>\n<p>So you know what that means! Hasbro could put some new forearms on this figure, possibly paint the skin a bit darker, and rerelease it as an official Rex somewhere down the line!<\/p>\n<p><center><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/yo\/art\/sw6bserct4.jpg\" width=\"80\" height=\"120\" title=\"Nik Sant\"> &nbsp; <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/12\/rex7.jpg\" title=\"Rex\" width=\"80\" height=\"120\"> &nbsp; <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/yo\/art\/sw2bsggjf3.jpg\" width=\"80\" height=\"120\" title=\"Jango\"><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Then you can figure Nik Sant is the one with sleeves, and Rex is the one with armor - that way everybody wins!
