Deadpool was introduced in 1990. He had his first solo comic in 1993, and got an ongoing title in 1996. So naturally, there's a \"30th Anniversary\" line of Mystery Minis<\/i> in 2024. Gotta love that math. But it doesn't matter when they came out, as long as they're cool, right? Figure #39 is the one I wanted most of all, Dino Deadpool. It's Deadpool as a chubby little T rex - who wouldn't want that!<\/p>\n

There was a POP!<\/i> of \"Dinopool,\" and a Deadpool Dinosaur did appear in the comics (he was technically a variant of Devil Dinosaur<\/a>, with a machine-gun-wielding Moon Boy riding on his back). The Mystery Mini<\/i> proportions are reminiscent of Super Dino Boys<\/i>, though more rounded and less pixelated. Dino Deadpool is sitting down, with his tail curled to the side around him, and is holding his two swords in surprisingly long arms. His mouth is open to show off his teeth, his nostrils are inset in the sculpt, and his eyes bulge out slightly rather than just being painted on. He's wearing the normal red and black Deadpool uniform, but the lower portion of the toy is painted a slightly faded shade to... make him look dirty? Maybe? Hard to say. Like all Funko Marvel<\/i> product, licensing restrictions mean Dino Deadpool has to be a bobblehead rather than a solid figure.<\/p>\n

Doing some research, it appears Funko actually released these in 2021, which suggests they're going not by the actual release date of New Mutants<\/i> #98<\/a>, but rather by the cover date. These non-blind-boxed versions are a re-release, done specifically to cash in on the new movie, but then why wouldn't you take the \"Nerdy 30\" branding off the box? You're already changing it to have a window in the front so we can see what's inside, and adding a number on the top (Dino Deadpool is #39), so just make one more change to remove the confusion.<\/p>\n
