Like, it's obvious the last three sets will be the B-team, but how do you rank them? Apparently getting your own TV show outranks getting your own movie, because here we get Flash. According to the included card, it's Barry Allen, not one of the ones anybody would care about, but who can tell anyway? He's sculpted in as much of a "running" pose as this keshi style can accommodate, with one foot more forward than the other and his arms pumping. Though shouldn't they be opposite of the legs, though? You know, right leg forward, right arm back, all that? Have you ever tried to even walk while moving your limbs in parallel instead of contralateral? The lightning-bolts at the top of his gloves barely have any jags at all, so they just look like regular stripes.

At least when the Wonder Woman set came with Cyborg, they were (kind of) coworkers; Flash is so hard-up for friends and associates that this set is filled out by another Batman character. I couldn't say for sure whether Flash and Batgirl have ever even met in any capacity; even if you ignore Cyborg's ill-fated tenure on the Justice League, the JLA still teams up with the Teen Titans every so often, but Batgirl never leaves Gotham City and Flash never comes in. Presumably Green Arrow wouldn't have worked in this kiddie-friendly style, where Joe Allard's sculpt had to be pulled from the mold in a single piece. Batgirl seems inspired by press shots of Yvonne Craig holding her cape out; or maybe that shot of Michael Keaton ready to fly off the rooftops.

Flash has one of the best rogues galleries in all of comics, but Wendy's has definitely chosen the most visually distinct one: Gorilla Grodd! Can you believe this fast food kid's meal premium chose to make a toy of the psychic gorilla? That's amazing! He's not substantially larger than the other figures, but his limbs are so much thicker and his head so much bigger, it really feels like he's a larger character and towering over the rest. He's sculpted in his kingly garb, a cape and loincloth and helmet, rather than just being a plain ape. Because that makes for a better (or at least more distinct) toy.

When the Wendy's counter dude was getting these sets for me (for free, because Wendy's is better than McDonald's in just every way), I wasn't Karen enough to worry about what colors I was getting. That said, I definitely would have preferred red to green for the Flash set. Especially since Grodd's gear is usually red, too, meaning only Batgirl would have been left out.

<i>And now, some more OAFEry:</i>

Lego Batman Minifigures: Officer Barbara Gordon review

The pure chaos of Funko Riddler reviews

Batman vs. Batman

Rustin's Spoils of the Week #127

Arnold as Turbo Man figure when?

<i>And now, some more OAFEry:</i>Flippin' Through Previews - November '10 Rustin's Spoils of the Week #87 Flippin' Through Previews - December '10 Lego Batman Minifigures: Fairy Batman review Soon Forget: Hot Toys Eyeball Man

[19,27
52,173,456
post-43144","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","hentry","category-blog-exclusive-review","category-dc","tag-batman","tag-flash","tag-wendys
["GET
