Okay, it's been a few weeks<\/a>, but good news: without any \"real\" Transformers on-hand, it's time to finally get back to BotBots<\/i>!! At last!<\/p>\n

<\/a>As long as we're jumping back in to a line that ended a while ago, we might as well make this a double-whammy: between Series 1 and Series 2, Hasbro released an interquel \"1.5\" series that was meant to be exclusive to Toys \"Я\" Us, but that couldn't happen (for obvious reasons), so the sets eventually became Amazon exclusives. There were two tribes in those sets, including the groundskeeping-themed Lawn League<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Just getting exclusive figures with new molds wasn't exciting enough, <\/a>I suppose, because there's a gimmick for the Series 1½ BotBots<\/i>: all the figures have some small area of color-changing paint that is, in theory, supposed to be heat-sensitive, changing hue when it warms up. \"In theory.\" In theory, Capitalism works - in theory<\/a>. In practice, the color change is so minor, you likely won't even notice it. As this is a watering can, the paint is supposed to represent water coming out of the sprinkler head. And it does that fairly well, but it never quit gets dark enough to not<\/b> be seen, as was the idea, even if you put it in the freezer overnight. Voice of experience!<\/p>\n

BotBots<\/i> were always easy to convert. In this case, you just hinged the arms out of the sides of the can, folded the legs from underneath, and then open the flap that hides the face.<\/p>\n

Since Series 1½ was an exclusive, none of the characters ever appeared on the website or in any merchandise, so there's nothing even resembling biographies for them - they don't even get to appear in the mall, just being dropped into lines down below the scene. So in order to tell anything about them, we have to examine the art on the package. Both the front and back of the packaging show Nozzlesnot, whether in robot mode or altmode, sprinkling water on their fellow BotBots - sometimes to their relief, sometimes to their chagrin. So presumably that means they're constantly leaking, but happy when they find a way to make that useful?<\/p>\n

Putting the spout of the watering can on the robot's forehead is a pretty standard choice, even if it does make the smiley little face hard to see sometimes. Another option might have been to make the robot \"little teapot\" style - you know, with one arm being the handle and one arm the spout. The body is broadly conical, wider at the bottom than the top, and there are white details painted around the lower edge and on the robot's stomach, helping to break up all that blue.<\/p>\n

Nozzlesnot was available both in a Lawn League 8-pack, and a Bakery Bytes 5-pack. The mold would eventually be reused in Series 5.<\/p>\n

<\/a>One of the new tribes introduced in BotBots<\/i><\/a> Series 4 was the Winner's Circle<\/a>, a group of golden trophy-bots who will judge the other team's efforts to cause mischief in the \"Goldrush Games.\" They pretty much take the place of the previous series' Lost Bots, hiding out in the blind-packed portions of the packages.<\/p>\n

When the Winner's Circle was introduced, the art showed several items that were not among the actual toys - for instance, a solid gold watering can, which wouldn't show up until Series 5. By this point, Hasbro was done including maps of the mall as a fun part of the paper inserts with the figures (because that would have required them to pay artists, and they hate<\/b> having to pay people money), but it's pretty safe to assume that all the Winner's Circle BotBots<\/i> congregate in the mall's trophy shop, that these aren't actual items, but instead just the little statuette on top of an award. In this case, the award for best watering your plants? Damn Boomers and their insistance on getting a trophy for every stupid little thing.<\/p>\n

The BotBots tribes are competing in the Goldrush Games to see which tribes are the most mischievous! Winning tribes are awarded shiny gold trophy bots from the Winner's Circle tribe! This trophy bot is awarded for the most nurturing, refreshing, thirst-quenching mischief and won't stop until he finds the perfect tribe! Who will grab the gold?<\/i><\/p>\n

Well, we're just guessing, here, but either the Lawn League<\/a> or the Shed Heads<\/a>? Because they're the ones who deal with gardening stuff? The name is a play on \"pure gold,\" which is better<\/a> than most of the Winner's Circle bots get. His face is printed with the same blush lines on the cheeks that Nozzlesnot had, but his mouth is painted with the tongue sticking out unhappily.<\/p>\n

Pour Gold is only available in a single set, as all the Winner's Circle are. He can be found in a Hibotchi Heats<\/a> 8-pack with Camcon, Drama Sauce<\/a>, Experi-Mental, Handy Dandy<\/a>, Nomaste<\/a>, Slurp-A-Derp<\/a>, and Wah-Waaah the Clown<\/a>.<\/p>\n
