Today's Chronicles<\/i> Scare Glow review<\/a> mentioned that the 1:6 scale Mondo figure was influenced by the character's brief Mo2K appearance. Look!<\/p>\n

This is how Scareglow looked in the one comic that used him:<\/p>\n

You can see its defining features are a tall collar and pointy shoulders on the cape with loose strips hanging down the chest, a metal belt with a pointed loincloth hanging down the front, and tattered wraps like a mummy. And now, look at the Mondo figure:<\/p>\n

Every one of those features is present on that figure as well, meaning that the Mondo figure is as close as we can get to a 2002 Scareglow. It had other new features, of course, like all the chains, a metal collar over the cape, and more. It has bones sculpted above the surface of the body, just like the Chronicles<\/i> version, proving that Mattel very much can<\/b> use ideas Mondo came up with, leaving us again asking why Mattel didn't copy their work with the axe. Notice that Mondo's version has the traditional axe shape on the back of the weapon, but the front is an awesome scythe.<\/p>\n

The set also included lots of other extras, like more weapons (a mace with small skulls, a whip made from a spine), hands with energy effects, alternate flaming blades for the scythe, alternate heads showing his previous human form, as well as a bunch of pieces to turn him into a classic '80s-style Scareglow. Overall, it's an amazing figure, with its only flaw being that it's 12\" tall instead of 6\", and as nice as the Chronicles<\/i> Scare Glow is, he pales in comparison to Mondo's effort. Literally, in the case of the way they glow!<\/p>\n
