So after I figured out that Pomni<\/a> was the main character of Digital Circus<\/i> from nothing but who was most abundant in the merch, I also figured out who the villain was: after all, who does a jester work for, except a king?<\/p>\nKinger is not<\/b> the villain of the piece, but rather just another one of the Digital Circus's residents. In fact, he's the one who's been there the longest, which has started to have deleterious effects on his memory and sanity. Kind of like when you leave a computer on too long and it starts to get slow and unresponsive. Except you can't run disk defrag on a human mind. Would he be okay if he could get out of the simulation, or would the digital Alzheimer's follow him back to the real world? That's not a question the show poses, we're just wondering. Darkness calms him down and helps him think, which is why he spends most of his time in his impenetrable fortress (a pillow fort)<\/p>\nKinger's digital avatar is a white chess piece. Well, \"white\" metaphorically: it's actually unpainted wood, so it's tan, but that color would represent the white side in his chess set; we can say this with confidence because flashbacks reveal there used to be another chess piece character, Queenie, and she was darker wood, making her the \"black\" side. [unless the set would have various unpainted pieces as one side, and painted pieces as the other --ed.] He wears a luxurious purple robe with white fur trim, and has two bulbous eyes that sit at different heights on the front of his head. There are no other facial features, and his pupils are pointing different directions. He wears whire gloves, like so many cartoon characters, but his aren't attached to anything - they just float in front of him.
