That single prop spoke of an entire history of the Predator race, just another expansion added by the second movie.<\/p>\n<p>But did you ever wonder what the story was behind that gun? Well, writer Henry Gilroy and artist Igor Kordey did, because they created a story for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.comics.org\/issue\/59068\/cover\/4\/\" target=gcd><i>A Decade of Dark Horse<\/i> #1<\/a> titled \"Predator: 1718.\"<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/1718a.jpg\" width=\"300\" height=\"455\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/p>\n<p>Ooh, that's a nicely moody piece of art, isn't it? That's nice coloring work on the \"stealth mode,\" isn't it? Much easier to do in comics than in film, obviously.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/1718e.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/1718e-192x300.jpg\" width=\"192\" height=\"300\"><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Just to interject here, we've told you before that the <i>Predator<\/i> fans <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/yo\/necapredgort.php\">like to make up names<\/a> for the Preds. NECA calls <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/monkey\/necapred2eld.php\">the figure in today's review<\/a> \"Elder Predator\"; on-set, he was known as \"Greyback,\" likening him to the gorilla; one of his fan nicknames is \"Golden Angel,\" based on this page in the story.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/1718f.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/1718f-192x300.jpg\" width=\"192\" height=\"300\"><\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/1718g.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/1718g-195x300.jpg\" width=\"195\" height=\"300\"><\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/1718h.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/1718h-195x300.jpg\" width=\"195\" height=\"300\"><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Notice that the Predator is still only repeating sounds it heard, not actually speaking English on its own.<\/p>\n<p><center><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/1718i.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/1718i-195x300.jpg\" width=\"195\" height=\"300\"><\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/1718j.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/09\/1718j-195x300.jpg\" width=\"195\" height=\"300\"><\/a><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Nice ending.
