{"id":6677,"date":"2011-11-25T12:01:56","date_gmt":"2011-11-25T17:01:56","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/?p=6677"},"modified":"2011-11-26T17:39:56","modified_gmt":"2011-11-26T22:39:56","slug":"gi-joe-renegades-all-a-dream","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/2011\/11\/gi-joe-renegades-all-a-dream\/","title":{"rendered":"GI Joe Renegades: all a dream?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/yo\/gijrenduke.php\">today's Duke review<\/a>, yo said that <i>GI Joe: Renegades<\/i> was a great show, and it is: it has lots of Easter eggs for old fans, but does a superb job of introducing the characters in a cool way for a new audience.<\/p>\n<p>Well, despite the critical acclaim, Hasbro announced that the show would be going on hiatus until after <i>GI Joe 2<\/i> came out. And the way it was said made it sound like the show was cancelled outright, but they just didn't want to use the \"C\" word (since the final episodes had yet to air, and they wanted to keep the ratings up). So we can <b>hope<\/b> that the show comes back, but it doesn't seem likely.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Anyway, when the finale aired for the first time, The Hub showed this goofy little coda:<\/p>\n<p><center><object width=\"425\" height=\"246\"><param name=\"movie\" value=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/CAznMVCdBcg&rel=0&color1=0x003366&color2=0x0099cc&border=0\"><\/param><param name=\"wmode\" value=\"transparent\"><\/param><embed src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/v\/CAznMVCdBcg&rel=0&color1=0x003366&color2=0x0099cc&border=0\" type=\"application\/x-shockwave-flash\" wmode=\"transparent\" width=\"425\" height=\"246\"><\/embed><\/object><\/center><\/p>\n<p>Yeah, yeah, laugh it up, you jerks. <i>Renegades<\/i> was miles better than the '80s cartoon, and even tops <a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/yo\/gijdvdres.php\"><i>Resolute<\/i><\/a>.
