We covered four of the six figures in the series (Snowman, Mrs. Claus, Jack Frost and Rudy), but I can't help feeling that McToys missed a couple of obvious things that should have been included in this line.

The first one I thought of was some kind of mutant Christmas Tree, come to life to attack anyone who draws near. Maybe the ornaments could have been organs, or the presents under the tree would somehow be evil. But a living fir that wanted to kill you.

The tree would have been really great with a fireplace accessory - maybe in a box set? The stockings hung by the chimney with care could have still had feet in them or something. It would have been awesome.

The second missing figure was suggested by a reader on our message board: can anyone give a good reason why this set didn't have Christmas' real monster, the Krampus? A demon that kidnaps wicked children, whips them and carries them to hell? How did Todd McFarlane, the guy who created Spawn, overlook the Krampus?

So that's two figures down - working on the idea that McMonsters have to come in sixes, what other four characters would you put in a hypothetical Twisted Christmas 2?

--yo

PS - in keeping with the "Twisted Christmas" theme, here's a small sample of what you can do just by playing with the lyrics of a classic Christmas song:

Have yourself Christmas troubles
Have yourself Christmas troubles
From now on, faithful friends who are dear to us
Will be miles away.
From now on our troubles
Gather near to us once more.
Through the years we all will be gay
If the fates allow.
Hang yourself upon the highest bough,
And hang yourself, now.

--from "Santa's Acid Hawaiian Space Disco" by Mr. Fab and The RIAA

We spent the majority of this week reviewing the newest series of McFarlane's Monsters, Twisted Christmas.
