Blue Beetle wasn't the only character shown in the Total Jutsice coloring books who was cancelled, but then showed up in a later line. Let's take a look at Martian Manhunter!
The plot of the story was Darkseid trying to assemble the scattered pieces of an Ultimate Weapon. What said Ultimate Weapon did and how it worked varied from source to source, but the macguffin scavenger hunt was consistent. Most of the pieces were on Earth, but at least one was on a different planet - thus, book #3, Mission to Mars
Attempting to sneak up on Darkseid, J'onn gets blasted by his Omega Beams - fortunately for him, in this continuity, the Fractal Tech armor is designed to protect the heroes from the Omega Effect, so he doesn't get evaporated. Unfortunately, Martians are vulnerable to fire like Kryptonians are vulnerable to kryptonite. But don't worry: the armor on his right arm has a fire extinguisher in it.
While the Martian Manhunter molds were eventually released in Series 2 of Hasbro's 1998 JLA line, those figures didn't come with armor, so this art is the only place to see what might have been.
