At Toy Fair 2009, BFI showed off six new Art Asylum-designed Madballs, a mix of old and new characters:

Sadly, the sales weren't there, so Series 3 was quietly cancelled.
As a bonus, Art Asylum was also working on Series 4. There's art for those releases, but they never progressed to the sculpting phase:
