Autobots, roll out… to the library

September is Library Card Sign-Up Month, and the American Library Association is teaming up with Skybound and Hasbro to promote the month with Transformers.

a drawing of Optimus Prime, standing in front of shelves of books, holding up a gigantic Cybertron Public Library card and showing it to us. He's saying "Libraries - more than meets the eye... Roll out with a library card." The art style and sentiment are both charmingly primitive.

Whether you're upgrading your skills, scouting for knowledge and information, or connecting with other heroic readers, a library card is your key to an arsenal of resources. Spark your creativity as a builder or programmer by tinkering in your library's makerspace; mine the library's stacks and databases for new stories and adventures; kickstart your critical thinking skills to defeat the Decepticons of misinformation lurking online. Hitting the road? Use your library card to fuel your mind with books, e-books, audiobooks, and museum passes.

You can visit the ALA's site to see even more TF-themed notices, or even download some Autobot- or Decepticon-themed coloring pages. Fun!

Do you already have a library card? If not, why not? Go get one now. Make Optimus proud of you.
