One of the differences between the regular DC universe
and the Bombshells one - other than everybody being hot dames, of course - is how international it all is. Rather than all the heroes congregating in one of, like, three cities, they're spread all over the world. Batgirl is French, Supergirl is Russian, Lois Lane is Cuban, Harley Quinn is British, etc. So instead of being the daughter of Bruce Wayne and Selina Kyle, the Huntress is the daughter of a Nazi official in Berlin, and secretly serves as the leader of the German Youth Resistance - like she says, "I don't want to be an old woman, and when my grandchildren ask me what I did, I don't want to say, 'I kept my head down.'" She can't help what side she was born on, but that doesn't mean she can't choose to do what's right.
(Though let's be honest - wouldn't it have made more sense for Helena Bertinelli to be Italian, rather than German? That's probably why they never mention her last name in the comics.)
Unlike most of the Bombshells, Huntress was not designed by Ant Lucia.
When the line proved popular, DC had an entire month of variant covers on its comics; and since there were more books than unique characters, that meant turning to different artists to create more. The variant cover for Detective Comics #43 featured art by Emanuela Lupacchino, and went back to the line's early rockabilly roots by having Huntress play the guitar. A guitar with a crossbow built into it. She wears black pants and a purple shirt with a white pattern on the top that is reminiscent of her then-current costume, while a thick pair of catseye glasses do an excellent job of standing in for her mask. And kudos to the minifig for making those a separate piece glued onto his head, so they can accurately sit away from her face and we don't mistake what they're supposed to be. The mini does its best to copy the pose of the art (not that there are a ton of ways to show someone actively playing a guitar),
but it's less raucous, and she has her eyes open instead of closed.
Just like Lil Bombshells Series 1 received a full set of repaints as "Series 1.5," there was going to be a "Series 2.5," as well. Those were cancelled, but we do have concept art of what they would have been. Variant Huntress would have had the same colors, just shuffled around: her shirt would have been white with a black pattern at the top, and her hair would have been purple - if you knew it was supposed to be Huntress, you could see it, but it wouldn't have been as obvious as the standard look.
