The weakest crossover designs yet

TMNT, Thundercats, even Stranger Things... those were all pretty great designs. But now there's... this.

*photo of Masters of the Universe x Transformers He-Man, who is (as always) a large, musclebound oaf, except now he's wearing 'Optimus Prime armor' that looks like a low-rent costume more than an actual crossover figure*

There he is. He-Man in his Optimus cosplay.

I do like the sword at least.

I think that if they had done the mask differently, maybe as a helmet, they could have leaned into the armored jumpsuit design a bunch of anime from the 80s did like Ronin Warriors(?) and whatnot.

Or possibly reversed the character styles. Optimus with He-Man proportions and gear

I think it ends up looking more like an eye than the Matrix.

My local Target put out the Megatron and Man-At-Arms figures (in two separate locations, which is weird), and I have to admit, I was unimpressed. I don't know what could be done to make them better. Saying they look like a costume hits it exactly right...

MOTUxTransformers could have been great if it were transforming MOTU vehicles instead. But I suppose that would require completely new tooling that wouldn't be very reusable by either company.

Or heck, re-issuing the Meteorbs and calling that a MOTUxTransformers crossover would have been less offensive.

I think it's so dumb it loops back to I kind of love it.

It looks like He-Man killed Optimus and is wearing his body parts, but no one at the Ark notices because he keeps saying Optimus' catch phrases.

"Hey Optimus you look a little small today."

    "Uhhhh.... Roll out!"
