{"id":19331,"date":"2015-05-19T23:45:09","date_gmt":"2015-05-20T03:45:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/?p=19331"},"modified":"2015-05-19T23:45:09","modified_gmt":"2015-05-20T03:45:09","slug":"fox-releases-a-new-alien-blu-ray","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/2015\/05\/fox-releases-a-new-alien-blu-ray\/","title":{"rendered":"Fox releases a new \"Alien\" Blu-ray"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Normally this isn't the kind of thing we'd cover, but take a look at this:<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/alien1.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/alien1-195x300.jpg\" title=\"Alien Blu-ray 2015\" width=\"195\" height=\"300\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It's stylish and moody, but do you notice anything about it?<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Well, to begin with, Ripley is based on this promotional still:<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/www.oafe.net\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/05\/alien2.jpg\" title=\"Ripley\" width=\"240\" height=\"455\" class=\"aligncenter\"><\/p>\n<p>Clearly they just took that and painted on her space suit. And sure, she never had the flamethrower while wearing this suit, and the colors aren't quite right (they seem to be based on <i>Alien: Isolation<\/i> rather than the movie), but that can be chalked up to artistic license. But look at the xeno behind her. Notice anything off about it? Not only is it not the costume from <i>Alien<\/i>, it's not a costume at all!
