In 1972, Ron Dante (the producer behind The Archies and their hit \"<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=_KTbSXiEul4\" target=\"yt\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Sugar Sugar<\/a>\") created a \"Rockomic\" titled <i>From Beyond the Grave<\/i>. It was partially a retelling of a few existing Spidey stories, with some new material thrown in, and it was all set to music:<\/p>\n<p><center><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"425\" height=\"239\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/K05gEmjyRIs?rel=0\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/center><\/p>\n<p>That's Rene Auberjonois (<i>Star Trek<\/i>'s Odo) as Peter Parker. And Thayer David, the voice of Kingpin, would later be the villain in the 1977 <i>Spider-Man<\/i> TV pilot movie. You can read all about the album <a href=\"http:\/\/marveluniversity.blogspot.com\/2013\/12\/marvel-university-christmas-special.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">here<\/a>.
