"Art Evolution"
5/8/13
While Frank Miller's original The Dark Knight Returns was a landmark book, its sequel, The Dark Knight Strikes Again is an utter mess, from both a storytelling and artistic standpoint. There's no denying part of the problem was that perhaps a high-profile, million-dollar book for a major publisher wasn't the best time for colorist Lynn Varley to teach herself Photoshop on the fly.
The figure in the photo is Mattel's new release. And it turns out it's not easy to purposefully make an image look bad.
