The Martian Manhunter

DC Comics
by yo go re

Mr. Green Genes

Pulled to Earth from Mars' distant past, J'onn J'onnz has become a hero to the world and a bit of a detective. He works alongside the JLA, where his strength, mental abilities, and shape-shifting nature serve him well.

While a Martian Manhunter figure was planned for the TJ line, it never saw the light of day. The current JLA line available at KBToys released a version of J'onn; one that was nothing more than a repainted and slightly resculpted Superman. He was too stringy for my tastes, so I set about making a version of my own. I used the torso from an Iron Man Blacklash, the head of the JLA Manhunter, and the arms and legs of a Batman and Robin Bane. Through liberal use of boil and pop, superglue, and a touch of clay, I assembled the body. The cape is a combination of Blacklash's and the one that came with J'onn. The bootcuffs and belts are made from Das Pronto.

J'onn is just over 5" tall, but has no articulation - everything had to be glued in place, alas.
