"Ring the bell, Apollo"
4/21/10

We've talked before about how in his eponymous comicbook, Godzilla was constantly being hounded by Dum Dum Dugan. There was a period where they used Pym Particles to shrink Big G down to managable size, and as they wore off, he slowly returned to normal. While there was a point when he was mostly human-sized (perfect for having a fight with the Fantastic Four), he certainly never climbed in a boxing ring with Dum Dum. It's just a thematic representation (or some artsy crap like that).

Dum Dum comes from Marvel Legends, of course, and Godzilla is one of those vinyl figures you can get at Kmart and such. The ring they're in, interestingly, is actually ToyBiz's first shot at the Build-A-Figure concept they'd eventually make famous. When ToyBiz had the WCW license, they had a subline of Ring Fighters that each came with a quarter of a wrestling ring; buy them all, and you'd build the complete square. I only ever got two of them, but that was enough for this set-up.

Dum Dum: Okay, ya big, green, fire-snortin' lizard! Let's have this out once an' for all!
Godzilla: GRAAAAHNK?
