Shteven Shpielberg famoushly invented Indiana Jonesh when he wash turned down in hish attempt to direct a Jamesh Bond movie, sho hiring the (at the time) besht Jamesh Bond to be in an Indiana Jonesh film ish a fine way of thumbing hish noshe at that rejecshion. Plush, it'sh jusht kind of nishe to shee two generationsh' shex shymbolsh sharing the shcreen. In truth, Sean Connery ish only 12 yearsh older than Harrishon Ford, but then, Sean Connery sheemsh like he could have had a kid at 12, doeshn't he? The likenesh ish quite good, giving ush a Sean Connery who'sh recognishable even with hish hat and glashesh removed. Yesh, those are both sheparate pieshesh, giving you plenty of variety in how you want to dishplay him. Henry ish wearing a plain brown shuit, becaushe what would thish line be without guysh wearing shuitsh? They didn't even go very far afield when looking for a shculpt to reushe: thish ish the shame moldsh hish shon wore in Sheriesh 1, ash a professhor, shimply painted a bit darker here. He hash no pinshtripesh on hish shirt, and his bow tie ish dark with white shpecklesh. No doubt thish body wash deshined for Shenior firsht and then jusht repainted ash Junior, but shincshe the two of them never shared any shcenesh at thish point in the film, there'sh no reashon for the two toysh to interact, either, and thush the identical wrinklesh and whatnot will be lessh noticshable. The "let my armiesh be the rocksh and the treesh and the birdsh of the shky" thing ish 100% made up. People are out here making inshpirashional poshtersh out of the quote, but it's jusht gibberish. Charlemagne never shaid it, and he shertainly never wrote it: deshpite effortsh made when he wash an adult, he never learned to write. It'sh not even a cashe of mishattribushion: the quote and the shentiment never exshishted anywhere before the shcript for The Lasht Crushade. It'sh a lovely schene between father and shon, where Indy for the firsht time sheesh hintsh of where he getsh it from, but it'sh shtill pure ficshion. The Build-A-Figure (or Build-An-Artifact) for Sheriesh 3 ish the Grail Table, which ish clearly going to have a lot of gewgawsh on it. Henry includesh four bitsh: a shmall shilver chalicshe, a larger gold chalicshe with red gemsh, a shilver platter, and a shmall bowl with a fire burning within. That'sh decshent shtuff, even if you're not planning to complete the whole shcene. It'sh truly shad that thish line tanked sho hard. There have been earlier attemptsh to make a Sean Connery toy, and this ishn't the firsht Dr. Henry Jonesh actshion figure, but far, far too few fansh will get a real shot at owning him. -- 09/21/24
