Yor Forger

Spy x Family
by yo go re

In order to carry out "Operation Strix," Agent Twilight needed access to the prestigious Eden Academy. He adopted a daughter, but the school was so traditional, he knew he had no chance of enrolling the girl unless she also had a mother. Knowing the cover would be stronger if he was married to a civilian rather than a fellow spy, he set out to find himself a normal, average wife.

...Task Failed successfully?

A skilled assassin who was taught the art of murder from an early age. Codename: "Thorn Princess." Wanting to protect her precious younger brother and to continue her career as a killer without attracting suspicion from those around her, she agrees to a sham marriage with Loid, who was looking for a wife, because their interests coincide.

Loid's way of meeting that special someone was typically spy-ish: he requested files on all the single women of the appropriate age range in Ostania, then memorized every fact about all of them so he'd have it in his head if he happened to meet one of them. Whomst among us, am I right? Of course, that was only the publicly available info, not any actual secrets.

As the dreaded Thorn Princess, Yor wears a stylish and sexy black dress - the cut helps distract her targets, while the color hides any blood she gets on herself. The dress is a halter style, with straps running from the bustline to a black choker. The front panel is shorter than the sides and back, leaving her legs free for kicking or pursuit, and the red lining has a rose pattern that Bandai actually sculpted for this toy! She wears a golden hairband with a rose and two long spikes sticking back on each side. You'd think wearing fingerless gloves would be a bad idea (she'd be more likely to leave prints), but maybe those give her a better grip on her weapons?

The rear of Yor's dress is three sections, so the plastic won't impede the articulation of the legs too badly. Additionally, the straps that normally run around the outside of her arms would theoretically keep the arms from moving, but they're done as separate pieces that plug into the front and back of the toy's chest, meaning you can swivel them up out of the way when you need to. Yor's articulation is as good as Figuarts always gives us, with movement at the head, neck, shoulders, biceps, elbows, wrists, chest, hips, thighs, knees, ankles, and toes. You can get her in tons of wild assassination poses, but you'll definitely want a figure stand for her: those high heeled boots don't make for a steady footing.

The expression on the figure's face right out of the tray is a small smile: pleasant enough, but not exactly what you'd expect from the deadliest woman in the world. Fortunately, this is Figuarts, so she has extras. The swappable faces allow her to have a big joyful smile, a look of shock and alarm, unhappy embarrassment, or, finally, angry and implacable. They all work for her (she is a bit goofy, after all, even when she's working - intense one minute, knocked out of her groove and caught off guard the next), but the last one works best for this outfit.

Although she has incredible strength and unfailing aim, Yor's weapons of choice are a pair of golden stilettos. (The knife kind, not the shoe kind.) ((Though she could doubtless kill someone with a shoe if she needed to.)) The figure includes the knives, as well as hands to hold them. The other two pairs of hands are either fists or fully relaxed, and of course they all swap easily.

Spy x Family has an outstandingly fun premise: dad's a spy, mom's an assassin, neither of them know about each other or the fact their daughter's a psychic. It's like Mr. & Mrs. Smith, but even more crazy. Bandai is releasing some anime figures in the US right now, under their Anime Heroes line, but Spy x Family isn't part of it, and Figuarts are a higher quality anyway. The show is great, and deserves the best toys it can get.
