The Amazing Digital Circus: All-Stars Caine review

Mini-Figure Mini-Reviews

Last time we looked at the character I thought was Pomni's boss; today let's look at the one who actually is.

"Welcome to the Amazing Digital Circus! My name is Caine, I'm your ringmaster, and I'm here to show you the most jaw-dropping, heart-stopping, mind-bending paraphernalia you've ever laid your eyes upon!"

In the late '90s, a computer company called C&A developed an artificial intelligence they called C.A.I.N.E., an acronym that stands for Creative Ass-Insertion Newlywed Experiences Creative Artificial Intelligence Networking Entity. The A.i. was designed to come up with its own ideas and create things within the program. Now he oversees the Digital Circus and the people trapped within it.

Fitting the "circus" theme, Caine is a ringmaster: he has black pants, a top hat, and a fancy red jacket with yellow lining on the tails and stylish black lapels with white trim. Given that, in his role as digital overseer, he's based on the malevolent supercomputer AM from I Have No Mouth and I Must Scream, it's ironic that he's all mouth: he doesn't have a face or even a head, just a giant set of teeth, with his mismatched eyeballs held within. The mini is posed like he's floating in mid-air, but since that's not actually possible for a real toy to do, he uses the tail of his coat as almost a "seat." One hand is on his hip, and the other pointing into the air like he's making a grand proclamation.
