"Black Panther: Wakanda Forever" Movie Series: Okoye review

The General of the Dora Milaje and the leader of Wakanda's armies, Okoye is the nation's fiercest warrior.

Hey, look who gets a bio this time! Okoye was a Build-A-Figure for the first movie's toyline, but this time she's being sold by herself. Like the figures in the Legacy assortment, she's basically the same sculpt as before, just with improved paint. We say "basically" because she gets several new parts to make her fit better in this movie: new arms with different armor and articulation (swivels in the biceps, and double-hinged elbows), a skirt with fringe on it, and a new necklace. Even her boots are new! This is much better than she seemed at first blush.

Her outfit is more red than orange this time, and the skirt is beige. Instead of just dark outlines like the BAF had, this Okoye's scalp tattoos are filled in with red. It's the same head sculpt, but the Photo Real printing has gotten better than it was, so just like Everett Kenneth Ross, this new figure looks better than what we had before.

Not better? the accessories. She comes with the two same spears as the original figure, and this time they're not even painted. She includes the head of this series' Build-A-Figure, Attuma, so no skipping her if you want to finish the BAF.

Okoye feels like she was included only because she wasn't in the Legacy line... or maybe like she wasn't in the Legacy line because she was going to be included here. (see also: Everett Ross) It's good she's got a better figure now, but there are definitely other characters or designs that would have been better.
