Soon Forget: Crittaz

This is the latest in a series (of indefinite length and regularity) of blog posts memorializing cancelled toys. Our honoree this time is Crittaz, the animal-themed original property by Palisades.

Welcome to Kingdom City!

In Kingdom City, the animals rule the streets.

Kingdom City is a zoo, so there are a variety of animals who live there. Like any city environment, when you mix a wide variety of creatures, you get all kinds of fun interaction. The Crittaz world represents a wacky caricature of the real world. Since the initial target market is pre-teen and up, there will be no emphasis on the more sinister aspects of society: no violence, no guns, no weapons, and no drugs.

The characters are the story and the basis of the fun...

Sadly, only one series was ever made. But just the other day, Ken Lilly posted this artwork showing what Series 2 would have been:

Seeing unreleased Palisades product is always a kick in the gut.
