At some point during Godzilla's Showa Era (ie, the original continuity from 1954 to 1975), the films went full Giorgio Tsoukalos and started blaming everything on aliens. Often that meant human-sized aliens scheming to use giant monsters to achieve whatever nefarious goals they had, but, like Stan Lee using mutants as a "they were just born with it" excuse for giving new characters powers, it also became the origin-of-choice for where new giant monsters were coming from. The last one to be acting under their own initiative - rather than being controlled or summoned - was the Smog Monster Hedorah, who hailed from the Horsehead Nebula (which, being in the Orion constellation, means she'd be a cosmic neighbor to Kang and Kodos). This movie was more off-the-wall than expected, even opening with a James Bond-style musical number and featuring a few animated segments, but it was a return to Godzilla's message-heavy roots: Hedorah's name comes from hedoro, the Japanese word for "sludge," and she lives off all the pollution mankind is leaving all over the place.
Hedorah is another monster who goes through several evolutionary stages. This Mystery Mini depicts the final form, which looks like a Cthulhu made of kelp. Apparently it was the heaviest suit since the original 1954 Godzilla, made of a very spongy material so Godzilla's attacks could sink into its body when they touch. The arms are raised to the front, to best display the goop hanging off them, and the tail drags on the ground behind. Hedorah was one of the most deadly kaiju Godzilla's faced, killing thousands just by passing near them, swamping others in acidic mud or gruesomely dissolving them into skeletons, and being the first to make Godzilla bleed. The figure is mostly a shiny black, with green airbrushing on the arms and red on the cheeks, and its vertical eyes are red with yellow irises. The lumps on the back are painted solid colors, so it ends up looking like a big flower; it was red and yellow on the actual suit, but more like the markings on a reptile or amphibian's skin, not unmottled blocks.
Like Gigan, Hedorah is available in a 1:24 ratio, meaning the two of them swap places in every other case.
