The Malcolm "Deep Six" Willoughby in today's review looks like a direct update of his 1984 toy, which is the goal. But the 1984 toy almost didn't look like that.
On designer Ron Rudat's revised control art, from 1983, the vintage Deep Six was now going to have a removable dome (that didn't happen) and a change of head. The new head is the one we're all familiar with today, but if that change hadn't been made, what would he have looked like? What was the original plan?
