#338 - Ms. Marvel/Kang The Conqueror
Exposed to the Terrigen Mists, Inhuman high-schooler Kamala Khan gains the ability to shape-shift, and decides to become one of the the super-heroes she idolizes.
Ms. Marvel was revealed at the same time as last week's set, and she's just as exciting as Hulkbuster Bruce Banner was. Her costume is re-created well in Minimate style, since all it really needs is a skirt and some paint. Well, that and her scarf, which is a new piece. So's her hair, if a bit lighter than you'd expect. While the set does include normal-sized arms and hands for her, she shows off her superpowers thanks to a big stretchy fist we've seen before, and a new oversized hand that we haven't. It's just a bigger version of the normal Minimate hand, and would be perfect for Piledriver if they ever make a Wrecking Crew four-pack.
Wait, why haven't they made a Wrecking Crew four-pack?
Kang is a time-traveling warlord from the 30th century who finds himself repeatedly embroiled with the 21st century Avengers.
This is our second Kang Minimate, though his absence can probably be explained by the fact that he's nobody's real "main" villain - or rather, he doesn't have a main enemy. Avengers, Fantastic Four, X-Men, probably the Justice League at some point... he (in one of his multiple villainous identities - enough for another four-pack!) will cause problems for anyone! Kang is wearing his tradtional green-and-purple colors, and though he uses the same collar as the previous version, both his skirt and his helmet are new. His face is blue (a mask? or skin?) with pale stripes running down his cheeks and a weirdly wide mouth. Like, "Apocalypse" wide. What's going on there?
I love that giant Minimate hand. That's amazing.
I'm trying to figure out what else they might use it for...
