The OAFEnet Email Update wants to knock Conan O'Brien in the head.
- JOE FRIDAY! The Steel Crusher is a Hummer - an actual, licensed model, not just an STBLDF knockoff. There's a logo on the back and everything. This probably has something to do with Hasbro & GM's "Transformers" movie licensing deal; it may have opened the door for the H2's official appearance here, as well, since they already had an established...
- One of your classic bodice-ripper pulp romance moves is to sweep your lover up off her feet and carry her off, ideally just as the music swells up and, in PG-rated movies, the screen fades to black before you actually reach the big four-poster bed and get to business. Obviously it's a matter of upper body strength, but no one said it's only guys...
- The first NFL figures in the All Star Vinyl line were designed by Sean "Cheeks" Galloway, but sadly, that didn't continue. The pose is rather staid, here, just Urlacher standing straight up and apparently cracking his knuckles, but considering that the only figure that did get an extreme pose doesn't look so hot, that may be a good thing...
- MARVEL MONDAY! Her "ultimate destiny" is to be remembered as one of the founding X-Men, and the center of the Dark Phoenix thing, since back then that sort of story was actually imaginative. She's not going to top either of those - no one gives a damn who the founding members of anything are these days, and assuming anyone hauls her out, dusts her off...
- TRANSFORMERS TUESDAY! Seriously, until this ridiculous ice cream truck rolled across the screen in the opening battle, the smart money was on it just being a goofy toy design that had been adopted by the prequel comics, not something we'd see on-screen (see, for instance, Arcee's portrayal in the first movie comics). Hey, go figure. It's always fun...
- I was slightly worried the DC Universe Flash might feature the "large male" body used for other A-listers like Superman and Batman, but fortunately, Flash features the more slender body used for Green Lantern and Mister Miracle. The only newly-sculpted parts the head and boots, which have little wings on them - a characteristic of Barry's costume...
- Since the proton pack is non-removable and the elbows pads are part of his clothes, Winston's only accessory is the translucent orange and blue proton stream that fits on the end of his gun. Interestingly, the proton stream will also fit on the end of another proton stream, allowing you to double the length of the shot. Bust ghosts from a safe distance...
