Step One: begin with a standard real-worldd vehicle. This Segway will do nicely. Step Two: add some impractical armor plating. Glass panels are a must. Step three: add weapons. Giant missile launchers and always good. At least one weapon should pose significant risk to the driver is used. Step four: paint it olive green for the good guys ("Side-Rocker"), purplish-black for the bad guys ("Slither-Walk"). Step five: add a driver, then show your vehicle emerging from an explosion.
