The OAFEnet Email Update spent the weekend setting out traps for the Easter Bunny.
Easter's a weird holiday, isn't it? The way the thing moves around the calendar is just nuts. You probably heard about how this is the earliest Easter in 95 years, and how it won't be this early again for another 220 years. But that's just trivia. We all know what's really important about Easter: going out Monday to buy half-priced candy! And maybe a few toys while you're out.
- We delivered a triple-decker for this week's Joe Friday. If anyone out there denies the power of repaints to make a good figure, this should provide a perfect counter example.
- We also had an exciting GI Joe Movie Watch update - you'd have to be dead inside not to groove on this bit of news.
- We didn't really have an Easter-themed review or anything, but Sunday's Star Wars piece did offer figures with hard, colorful outer shells. Armor is a lot like a painted egg, right? Sure, why not? Experience the tenuous connection!
- This week's Transformers Tuesday reminded everyone that high-quality knockoffs are the right of all sentient beings. And yes, if you've been paying attention, you'll have noticed that every TFT review this month was an Optimus Prime of one form or another. Don't believe us? Go check for yourself. After you read this week's offering, of course.
- yo seemed to get a bug in his bonnet over the weekend, venting his spleen about some trivial figure decision. Find out if he's got a point or if this is just one more step in his slow slide toward yelling at kids to get off his lawn.
- We ended the week with a review of a figure that just came out on Saturday. Or earlier, if your store was lax about the company's arbitrary street date. Can a figure with missing articulation and an unreliable action feature get a good recommendation? You know where you can find out.
- That's all for this week, dear reader. Next week we'll have more goodness, including a review of Hasbro's Toy Fair-exclusive giveaway. Neat, huh? We'll see you then.
