Transformers Legacy: Override addendum

As mentioned in today's review, here's how Override was originally going to be a retooled Hot Rod:

It could have worked, but what we got is better.

I could never get myself to use the US names for the Cybertron characters (mostly because I was actually in Japan for much of the Galaxy Force run so the original names like Flame Convoy, Nitro Convoy et al became the 'default' for me), but I have to say that it's pretty impressive that with both Cosmos and Override the engineers managed to find a way to use fewer molds than normal to make brand new toys instead of retooling others.

But, darn it, if I'd known way back in Siege that we'd be getting the other leaders I'd have bothered getting Galaxy Upgrade Optimus back then. Live Convoy and Flame Convoy when, Hasbro/ Takara-Tomy?!

This figure is a blast and gives hope that more characters who have only 1 previous toy can get new ones.

Slightly off topic but how much does a toy have to transform to qualify for Transformers Tuesday? Wondering cause of these awesome transforming armor Godzilla and Kong figures I found a Target are very intriguing and seem to be flying under the radar

I do believe that the Legacy toyline is doing just that for quite a few characters. Like, Bomb burst, Pointblank and Iguanus haven't had toys since the original G1 toys, and I don't think we've had an actual spider Tarantulas since the original Beast Wars toyline ended.

I do hope they also do some of the Japanese exclusive characters, like Beast Wars II Galvatron or Beast War Neo Magmatron and Big Convoy.
