OAFEnet Update for Thursday, January 10

The magic's in the music and the music's in the OAFEnet Email Update.

The weather is unseasonably warm this week, so we feel like singing. Since every one of us is screechingly tone-deaf, however, we'll have to settle for using song lyrics to introduce you to all of this week's new reviews.

Daddy was a bankrobber
But he never hurt nobody
He just loved to live that way
And he loved to steal your money

Okay, so only the reviews are in song. Everything else is just boring text. Like this bit, about how there's a new Transformers cartoon on the air now, and yo explaining one of its obscure in-jokes.

Move in now move out (hands up now hands down)
Back up back up (tell me what you're gonna do now)
Breathe in now breathe out (hands up now hands down)
Back up back up (tell me what you're gonna do now)

We've got a new member looking for some old toys - can anyone help him out?

Some boys kiss me, some boys hug me
I think they're okay.
If they don't give me proper credit
I just walk away

Turns out this news of a new Minimates line actually is kind of music related: check out the YouTube music video link at the end!

I fell in to a burning ring of fire
I went down, down, down
But the flames went higher.
And it burns, burns, burns,
The ring of fire,
The ring of fire.

There was more semi-news about the GI Joe movie this week - just how big is the cast supposed to be, anyway?

Half a bee, philosophically,
Must, ipso facto, half not be.
But half the bee has got to be
Vis a vis, its entity. D'you see?

Were you as annoyed as the rest of us that Megatron was never released as a Binaltech/Alternator figure? No, probably not - we're all giant nerds. But one of our readers took matters into his own hands and put a custom together himself.

I think I'm a clone now
There's always two of me just a-hangin' around
I think I'm a clone now
'Cause every chromosome is a hand-me-down

Because we're feeling musical, we'll give all you non-subscribers a chance to guess what this week's Email Update Exclusive is. Remember, only the folks who have signed up for our mailing list get to see these reviews early, but that doesn't mean we can't let you try to guess:

Fighting soldiers from the sky
Fearless men who jump and die
Men who mean just what they say
The brave men of the Green Beret
