This is the latest in a series (of indefinite length and regularity) of blog posts memorializing cancelled toys. Our figure today is Playmates' TMNT Zog.
In 2015, with the Nick Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles toyline continuing along, Walmart got a few of the Series 16 toys early, as exclusives for a few months: Lord Dregg, and the Triceraton Mozar. However, when the product listing for Mozar went up on Walmart's website, the image was not the Leader of the Triceraton Army, but rather a purple-suited Triceraton with various slashes in his space suit. Sound familiar?
That's not even just a "colors and styles may differ" paint sample, none of the molds are shared between that toy and the one eventually released. And you can tell it's official product, because there are big sections of sculpted elements that haven't been painted - a Playmates hallmark! Look at the rips on his arms and legs that are purple when they should be orange.

The image remained on Walmart's site for about a month, but was corrected when the figures started to ship. No Zog was ever made or even announced, leaving this mistaken little leak the only evidence one was ever in the works before NECA tried their hand at the character.
