A horror-related question

I just have to say - do Jason, Freddy and Leatherface really sell as well as they seem to, judging from the way toy companies go after the license?

They've had toys from McFarlane and NECA, and even had several Mez-Itz figures. DC Comics is starting publication of Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th and Texas Chainsaw Massacre comicbooks. Is there as much demand as these companies think there is?
