The Transformers BotBots are divided into eight teams, based on what store in the mall they hail from. For instance, there are two electronics stores, both bringing us the members of the Techie Team; the one upstairs on Level 3 is the home to Fomo.
The Techie Team, obviously, comprises lots of electronic devices - well, I suppose all Transformers are electronic devices, being that they're giant robots, but you know what I'm getting at. This one, for example, turns into an "action camera." And since no one knows what an action camera is, it's a GoPro (a brand that's hurtling toward genericization faster than a bungie jumper headed toward the ground).
The camera has lots of little details on the front, but really none on the back, so face front, true believers! There's a square black frame around the lens, to protect it from impact; a loop on the left side would allow you to attach a strap, were this at real size; there are red and green controls down in the corner; and a black mounting bar underneath the body.
Converting BotBots is easy by design: pull the arms out to the sides, rotate the head, and fold out the legs. Ready to go!
Fomo is an action junkie. She never stops looking for an opportunity to perform another daredevil stunt. She records and shares every one of her jaw-dropping feats. Wait 'til you see what she does next!
Wait, she's a she? Neat! FOMO is, of course, an acronym for "fear of missing out," the worry that someone somewhere is doing something more fun without you. And conveniently, it also rhymes with GoPro! The robot mode isn't great - the legs are way too stumpy - but she does have sculpted hands inside the arms, and the way the non-lens eye is scrunched up makes it look like she's squinting to make sure she gets her shot. The official art gets the placement of some of the details backwards, so maybe the conversion was originally planned to be different.
Fomo is only available in the blind single-packs, where she's #08.
